A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When:

We meet across our four church centres at various times of the month as follows:

Holy Trinity, Launceston CBD - Thursdays at 11.00am and Sundays at 8:30am and 10:30am.

Holy Trinity Launceston

You can find details of our Launceston CBD church (here).

For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will ensure you have everything you need.

We serve refreshments after each of our gatherings. It is a great way to meet people. All refreshments are free.

You can find details concerning our other Gatherings across the Parish of Holy Trinity at

St Andrew’s, Evandale - 5.00pm every Sunday (here).

St Matthias’, Windermere - 2nd and 4th Sunday at 9.30am (here).

St James’, Franklin Village - 11.00am every Thursday (here).

Our Gatherings:

Our gatherings use A Prayer Book for Australia (APBA) as an order of service at Holy Trinity, St Matthias and St James.

At St Andrew's we use A Prayer Book for Australia (APBA), An Australian Prayer Book (AAPB) and Sunday Services.

Whichever centre you attend, the beginning of each gathering starts with a warm welcome from one of our team leaders. Then follows a time of sung worship, led by an organist and choir, or music team - depending on which centre you visit.

Prayer, bible readings, a sermon that is bible based, followed by the sharing of the Lord’s Supper (often referred to as Holy Communion) - shape our time together each week.

We celebrate the Lord's Supper at the Lord's table - Jesus is our host and invites all those who have placed their faith and hope in him to come and receive the sacraments of bread and wine.

Naturally, as an Anglican Church, we value opportunities to mark significant moments in our journey of faith through Baptism and Confirmation. We would be happy to discuss this with you further should you wish.

That said, the two sacraments of Baptism and The Lord's Supper are both responses we make as we hear the good news of Jesus and place our faith in him. It is faith that remains the central and most important thing to consider.

Please feel free to come to the Lord's Table during our gatherings. For it is as we gather here each week, that Christians receive the bread (as a symbol of Christ's body that was given at the cross) and the wine (as a symbol of the blood in remembrance of all that Christ accomplished on the cross for us) and find their faith nurtured and strengthened to live for Him day by day.

You may prefer to come to the Lord's Table for a prayer of blessing.

How will we know? - Well, if you come to partake of the sacraments - can we ask that you extend your hands to receive. Alternatively, keep your hands by your sides and we will know to offer you a short prayer.

After we have shared in Holy Communion, we finish with a final hymn and blessing, before enjoying refreshments together.

What about my kids?

We really value worshipping God all together as a family.St Andrews 050223-16

As we enter a new phase of ministry in The Parish of Holy Trinity, we are currently developing our Children & Youth programme.

Our initial aim is to provide age appropriate Children and Youth Ministry during our main gathering at Holy Trinity, Launceston CBD, catering for children from:

birth to pre-school in Creche
K-3 in Explorers
4-6 in Pathfinders
7 upwards in illumin8

For the next month or so, children and youth stay with their families and are provided with activity packs. Our prayer is that this ministry will grow and as we train up leaders over the coming weeks, we will be able to roll out a more interactive programme.

Getting Connected

L.I.F.E. Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. We call our small groups LIFE groups because we hope that being a member of a small group in the Parish of Holy Trinity will equip you to Live In Faith Everyday.

Being part of one of our LIFE groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other.

We are currently building a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings.

Check out our LIFE Groups page for an overview of our approach to what we hope will become a central feature of our community life together.

Reverend Lee & Rachel Shirvill
Reverend Lee was ordained and served in the Diocese of Grafton before moving with his family to serve in the Diocese of Salisbury, on the South Coast of England, where he was appointed for 10 years as Team Rector. Arriving in Launceston during February 2024, he and the family are excited to be back in Australia and part of the Diocesan Mission to be a church for Tasmania, making disciples of Jesus

We hope that whoever you are, you will feel at home at our church centres in Launceston CBD, Evandale, Windermere and Franklin Village.
